About the Fundraiser
Our happiness knew no bounds when Banvath was born, we were happy to finally become parents.
However, our happiness didn't last long.
When he was four months old, he developed a fever when that didn't subside despite our best efforts.
We rushed him to a hospital, where he was diagnosed with thalassemia, a genetic blood disorder that requires continuous blood transfusions and medical attention.
It's been seven years since we have been in and out of this battle, and it has taken a toll on our family's finances.
He was fine and on his way to improvement. Banvath recently underwent a bone marrow transplant (BMT) treatment, and we were hoping that it would cure his illness.
Unfortunately, he developed complications post-treatment. Since none of the family members turned out to be a match, an unknown donor was selected, resulting in GvHD in Banvath.
Graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) is a disorder caused when the recipient's immune system recognises that the transplant is external and in defense, attacks the recipient's body cells.'
We shifted to Bangalore for further treatment, and have been staying near the hospital since last November.
By now, our financial difficulties have only worsened. We sold everything we had and even took multiple loans to meet the required treatment.
Banvath's father runs a small fast-food centre, our only source of income. With the ongoing medical expenses, we are unable to make ends meet.
We have already spent more than Rs. 12,00,000 on his treatment, and now we need INR 17,00,000.00 for the upcoming treatment to cure GvHD.
His health has suffered significantly.
Over the years, his body has undergone immense stress resulting in loss of strength to perform daily tasks. He has also faced severe hair loss.
I humbly request you to help us collect the funds for my son's treatment. Our family is going through a challenging time, and we cannot afford to lose our son.
Any amount you can contribute will be greatly appreciated and will help us provide the necessary treatment for our son.
